The police have yet to determine the text message sender claiming to be Muhammad Nazaruddin, the former Democratic Party treasurer who fled to Singapore following graft accusations.
"The search is still under way," National Police spokesman Sr. Comr Boy Rafli Amar said Friday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
Boy explained the police were still collecting information from a number of people including Indra J. Piliang, the person who received the text message directly from the phone number claiming to belong to Nazaruddin.
However, Boy refused to disclose the names of the people questioned. "There are several people, but we can only reveal the names at the investigation stage," Boy said.
In the controversial message, the person claiming to be Nazaruddin threatened to take revenge from Singapore. The names of several Democratic Party leaders were mentioned including President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
Nazaruddin himself, who cited medical reasons for his departure to Singapore, denied sending the text message.
Nazaruddin was allegedly involved in a bribery case centering around a contract for the construction of an athletes dormitory for the 2011 SEA Games in Palembang, South Sumatra.
